The Rev. Lynne Sharp


Lynne was called to St. James in June 2014 after serving in a variety of ministerial positions on the West Coast. A graduate of the Church Divinity School of the Pacific, Lynne was ordained in 2008 and called to St Aidan’s as temporary Associate for Outreach and Pastoral Care, then as an Associate at Grace Cathedral. Lynne served her last two years in California at St Paul’s in Burlingame as the Youth Minister and Pastoral Care Associate. During her twelve years in San Francisco Lynne was an Episcopal Franciscan Sister. Lynne is a Rochester native and returned to Rochester in 2013 to participate in a Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Residency at Strong Memorial Hospital working as a Chaplain in the Cancer Center and on Palliative Care. Before her call to ordination, Lynne worked in the field of addiction in both outpatient and residential settings. Lynne has two daughters who live in the Rochester area, as well as a son-in-law and two grandchildren. She has a variety of hobbies and interests which include hiking, gardening, reading, knitting, and yoga.
